On-campus living at Augusta University

4 of the best reasons to live on campus

Need a reason to live on campus? How about four?

Few decisions are as important for incoming students as choosing the right place to place to live. Making a good decision takes time. On the other hand, a wrong decision could sour your whole college experience.

If you’re coming to Augusta University, there are literally hundreds of reasons to considering staying in one of our residence halls. Here are four of the big ones:

 1. 200 acres of backyard

Fitness-minded? You’d be hard-pressed to find a better place to walk, jog, trot or run than on one of Augusta University’s four local campuses. From the Summerville Grove to the Riverwalk at the Nathan Deal Campus for Innovation, some of Augusta’s most beautiful greenspace in Georgia can be found right here in your own backyard. Just be sure to pack your running shoes!

2. The gym next door

Too tired to drive to the gym? We get it. That’s why we built our residence halls right next to the Wellness Center. Open at 5:30 a.m. Monday through Friday, the Wellness Center offers students a wide range of workout options. Air-conditioned walks in the summer? Full-body workout in the winter? No matter the season, if you’re living on campus, there’s no excuse not to visit the Wellness Center. And while you’re there…

3. Fraps, wraps and snacks

Grab a snack! Stop in for a quick pick-me-up at the Student Center Atrium Dining Hall, the Jaguar Student Activity Center (JSAC) or the J. Harold Harrison Education Commons before those early morning classes. All three locations serve a variety of delicious Starbucks products, including specialty drinks. Hungry? Choose from a wide selection of delicious to-go meals at the Student Center, JSAC or the Allgood Café. Omelets made to order? We’ve got them. Still hungry? Head over to Terrace Dining in the Augusta University Medical Center for hot sandwiches, juicy burgers, a salad and fruit bar and several other scrumptious options.

4. All of the events

Spring, summer, winter, fall: There’s always something happening on campus. Want to see a movie? Come to a Cinema Series event. Every semester the Cinema Series brings new and classic movies to campus. You can also catch a flick with the Jaguar Production Crew (CREW, for short). Follow them on Instagram for a chance to vote for an upcoming movie. Looking for something a little more “dressy?” The Maxwell Theatre hosts classical and jazz concerts year round, not to mention hit plays and recitals. There’s also the Mr. and Ms. Augusta University Pageant, R.O.A.R. Camp, and dozens of student organizations and clubs to join.

If you’re not living on campus as a student, you’re not getting the full Augusta University experience. Whether it’s catching a movie with friends at the Maxwell or going for a relaxing walk after class, there’s always something to do here. All you have to do is look!
