Jennifer Moore has a love for travel that she worried would go unfulfilled. Born and raised in Panama, she came to the United States in 2010.
When she enrolled in Augusta University, Jennifer found a way to fulfill her dream through the Study Abroad program. What made it even better was one of the trips was a Model UN program, something she participated with in high school. Since discovering the New York Model UN trip, Jennifer has gone twice and plans to once again.
Jennifer really enjoyed the Model UN program because she was able to talk, something she enjoys and does all the time, and she was able to gain experience for her future career goals. Jennifer plans to become an immigration attorney so she may help other people who may have had similar experiences to her own. She credits Model UN for giving her the confidence to speak in front of large groups of people in a professional way and showing her the difference between negotiating and debating.
As a Study Abroad Mentor, Jennifer encourages all students to take advantage of Study Abroad, especially those who might find traveling outside the United States unattainable.
“Don’t let the name fool you. There are opportunities for students like us.”
